How We Started

A Dream Come True

The Salt Water Grille concept was born on Independence Day in 1961, the brainchild of famed Hawaiian surfer Clay Radbass a US Marine. The first location was modest, with just a few tables in a converted diner. However, two principles present in 1961 remain staples of every Salt Water Grille location – great food and equally impressive views. Today, Salt Water Grille restaurants overlook the coasts of both the Atlantic and the Pacific, and other scenic locations in between. And while we stretch from sea to shining sea, every location remains committed and specialized to its local community.

What time is Sunset?

Sunset is different every evening and is our most popular time for dining. Please reserve a table early to assure your Sunset time. Please check the sunset tracker at sunset.com to see the best times!

How fresh is your seafood?

We have our local fishermen bring in their catch every morning. Market prices are subjected to change by seasons.

Can we use your restaurant for our wedding location?

Yes, but we can only hold 100 guests in our guest room if the weather is bad. Please adjust for this situation.

Can my company hold an event at your location?

Yes, but we can only hold 100 guests in our guest room if the weather is bad. Please adjust for this situation.

Do you offer dining on your beach?

Yes, if the weather is good, we will open the beach up on our property for extended seating, but there is no guarantee. Please call the day of for beach dining options.
